“Wonderfully secluded getaway.”
Rachel and Matt's villa at Très Volcanos is a wonderfully secluded getaway with all the comforts of Canadian hospitality. They're incredible hosts who've made an Oceanside villa in Nicaragua feel like home with a sense of adventure. This spot is remote, you won't be taking a stroll to a local bar or restaurant but there's no reason to. The views are breathtaking and Matt is a remarkable chef who catered to a long list of allergies with flare! We had the opportunity to take a boat ride and surfing lessons from local folks who Matt and Rachel know well, which let us get to know the incredible region of Salinas Grandes and Nicaragua as a whole. Plan to send a few nights, it's not ideal for a quick layover plus once you arrive you won't want to leave. We debated staying extra nights because we loved the place so much.

“What was not to love?”
The house was amazing, the beach was incredible, and Rachel & Matt were the greatest hosts one could hope for. They truly made us feel at home, always had advice when we needed it, and adventures that made the trip spectacular. Rachel's massages were out of this world- would highly recommend! Matt cooked us a wonderful dinner and supplied us with groceries (even making an additional run to get more once we realized what we'd truly need). Thank you so much to Rachel & Matt, and to Vicenta, their kind and wonderful housekeeper who, like our hosts, always went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Much love and thanks to you! WE WILL BE BACK :)

Our stay was amazing. Both Rachel and Matt were fantastic hosts. The meals were prepared for us, and they were all restaurant quality. Although the house is very remote, it is as we expected. A very private beachfront house. Amazing stay.

“An absolutely amazing experience!”
If you are looking for a beautiful and secluded getaway, this place is for you. Rachel and Matt really make you feel at home and give you plenty of options to explore/learn about the area. On this trip alone we learned how to surf, explored both the ocean and a protected habitat area, relaxed to the max, and ate great food. If there was a way we could give them 10 stars out of 5 we would. I would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to go to a little slice of heaven with the care and company of great people.

"We loved staying at this place!”
It was the perfect escape- very quiet and comfortable, spectacular ocean and sunset views. Rachel was helpful, accommodating and immediately answered our questions. Everything was ready for our arrival and departure. We liked it so much we plan to stay here again before we depart Nicaragua.

Stay a while
“Perfect place to get off the beaten path for R&R.”
Rachel and Matt are great hosts and the Salinas Surf House is a perfect place to get off the beaten path for some R&R. For surfers - there is a break right in front of the house as well as an outer reef for big days and while a few of the other residents in the area may join you - you'll be surfing more or less alone - you can't say that about many of the southern Nicaragua beaches these days. There is a turtle sanctuary 200m up the beach so during the right time of year, you can go watch the daily turtle release. I really can't say enough positive things about our stay - over the past 7 years we've done over 15 trips to Nicaragua and stayed at dozens of accommodations throughout the country and this is by far one of the best.
